Fair Rodeo 2008. Friday June 20th at 7:15 pm Shelby was honored with the the speech and horsemanship awards as well as becoming the 1st annual Miss DCF Rodeo!!! </span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Shelby is a senior at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School and is active in her school. Outside the rodeo arena Shelby enjoys competeing in 4-H and local horse shows. She recently has begun training for a new healthier sport, fitness modeling.</span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">You will be able to see Shelby at the Leon Rodeo, Dallas Co. Fair, Lenox Rodeo, Iowa State Fair Cowgirl Queen Contest, Adel Sweet Corn Festival, Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa Pageant, Iowa Rodeo Cowboy Assn. CORRECTION form the packets, entries will be due/postmarked by June 2nd rather than 1st because the 1st is a sunday, can't usually mail on a sunday! Also there were supposed to be tips on queen runs and flag runs BUT instead you can get them from rodeoroyalty.com under resources! Thanks to all!<br />We also almost have the rulebook completed, after this is revised and edited and the Rodeo dates are set, entry packets will be available.<br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">ANOTHER UPDATE: Watch the website and blog because we are in the planning to have a rodeo queen/cowgirl queen horsemanship clinic in the spring. We'll have to see how the weather works for us, but hopefully in April or EARLY May we will be holding a DAY LONG clinic to help learn everything for proper flag carring to placement in the arena to patterns!!! You will be allowed to bring your horse. The instructors will also be horse back. We are hoping to tape the whole thing a then you will have a visual aid! It will most likely be limited to 10-15 spots so if you are interested at all, e-mail me as soon as possible. We had 4 girls able to attend, all in which I hope will be running for our title. Miss Rodeo AK-SAR-BEN, Lindsey Ahrenholtz and Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa, Rachel Burton were there. Both looking beautiful and very knowledgeable. Between Lindsey and I Rachel could hardly get a word in edge wise. All the girls asked good questions and learned very quickly.
